Balasore: In yet another case of sexual violence against women in the state, a four-year-old girl has allegedly been raped by a youth in Hatasahi village under Baunshabania panchayat under Nilagiri Police Station area in the district, reported on Saturday.
The accused identified as Nityachandan Jena (24) who lived next door to the victim’s family lured her on the pretext of giving a chocolate on Friday. He later raped the minor by taking her into a dark room in his house, tells a complaint filed by the victim’s father Sudarshan Jena with Nilagiri Police.
The minor girl’s family members came to know about the incident after she narrated her ordeal before them after returning home.
Police have reached the village and conducted preliminary investigation in the case.
Sources said the minor girl happens to be an adopted daughter of Sudarshan, whom he had got from Nilagiri hospital, four years ago.
