Jagatsinghpur: A youth was brutally thrashed to death during a scuffle which erupted between two families in Sabhamula village under Jagatsinghpur police limits in the district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Sudarshan Nanda, son of Laxmidhar Nanda of Sabhamula village.
A dispute occurred between Laxmidhar’s family and a neighbour over some issue in the morning. After the dispute escalated into a heated argument, the neighbour’s family started attacking Laxmidhar’s family in a fit of rage injuring Sudarshan critically. Laxmidhar and his wife also sustained injury in the attack.
Later all the injured were rushed to Mandasahi Community Health Centre (CHC) in a critical condition by some locals in the morning and Sudarshan died under treatment.
Jagatsinghpur Police have reached the hospital and sent the body for postmortem. Police have susupected a love angle behind the dispute and have started investigation.
