Soro: Incident of sexual abuse of minor girls continue unabated in Odisha with yet another case of rape attempt being reported from Balasore district in the state.
In the latest incident, a minor girl in Jamapada village under Soro police limits was attacked at her house by a youth living next door in the afternoon on Sunday. The accused identified as Sheikh Tikko barged into the girl’s room while her mother was busy cooking in the kitchen and started touching her inappropriately. The accused also showed the minor some obscene videos clips which he had stored on his mobile phone before trying to rape her.
However, the accused ran away from the spot after the victim’s mother reached the spot hearing her screams.
Girl’s mother lodged a complaint with police later in the afternoon and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
Soro Police arrested the accused after conducting a raid in Kazi Maholla area in the evening on the same day and sent the victim for medical examination.
