4-member State Commission for Women meets Koraput gang rape survivorKoraput: A four-member team of Odisha State Commission for Women met Kunduli gang rape survivor at Sahid Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital here on Saturday and took stock of her health condition.

According to reports, the four-member team led by Snehanjali Mohanty also discussed with the medical authorities about the health condition of the survivor.

Koraput Town Police Station IIC and women officials of state Crime Branch had accompanied them.

The women body had registered a case yesterday and sought a report from the Koraput SP within a week in this connection.

South-Western DIG is likely make the medical report public today. The medical official had submitted the medical report , prepared by two specialists from SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, to the police two days ago.

On the other hand, the accused are still at large. A five-member team under the leadership of a Crime Branch SP is probing the heinous crime. The team during its investigation into different angle had questioned some relatives of the survivor.

A class IX class student of Sorisapadar village under Potangi police limits in Koraput district was allegedly gang raped by four security personnel while returning from the Kunduli Haat (market) on Tuesday. The incident had sparked off public outcry.

Taking serious note of the public outrage over the incident, Odisha police has marked the crime as a ‘Red Flag Case’.
