Jajpur: In a shocking incident, a woman Clerical staff of Korei Child Development Project Office (CDPO) lodged a case with police on Tuesday after a morphed photo involving her went viral on instant messaging platform WhatsApp in the district over past few days.
As per the FIR, one Pratap Biswal of Kanheipur Chandma area, who distributes chatua to the Anganwadi workers, posted the picture of the victim woman along with a retired male staff of her office, on his WhatsApp DP to satisfy his personal grudge against her. After the incident came to the notice of the victim, she objected the act. However, the accused threatened her of dire consequences.
“I found my morphed photo on Biswal’s WhatsApp DP on March 27. The photograph showing me in objectionable position with a senior male staff of the office had been taken some four years ago. The concerned male staff has even retired from his job now. The incident has maligned my social image and I want stringent action against the accused,” said the victim who works as an ICDS Supervisor.
“I have taken the matter to the notice of the District Collector, Sub Collector, BDO and CDPO but all went in vein. The accused has started threatening me over the issue,” she added.
On the other hand, Korei Police Station IIC Chinamayee Sahoo informed that police have lodged a case in the incident and the culprit would be nabbed soon.
“We have registered a case against the accused under Section 294, 506, 509 of IPC and Section 67 of IT Act. An investigation is underway and the culprit would be arrested soon,” said Sahoo.
