Bhubaneswar: The death toll due to Swine Flu reached 35 in the State on Saturday with two fresh deaths reported, one each from the SCB Medical College in Cuttack and KIMS hospital in Bhubaneswar,
While the deceased who fell victim to the vector-borne disease are yet to be identified, sources said they were under treatment for the last couple of days.
Meanwhile, four out of the 17 swab samples sent to the laboratories for detection on Saturday were found positive with the dreaded H1N1 virus.
In what points to the alarming proportions the disease has acquired in the state, 345 people have tested positive for avian influenza so far. Despite all efforts from the state Health department to keep it under control, the dreaded disease has managed to spread its tentacles across the state.
