Willpower holds the key to success: Rajyavardhan

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Sports and Youth Affairs and Information and Broadcasting, Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said willpower holds the key to success after visiting the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) on Sunday.

Rathore took note of various sports infrastructures available in both KIIT and KISS during his visit.

After the visit, the minister appreciated various initiatives taken by Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS for the development of sports and sports persons in the state.

He said “we can’t produce National and International level sports persons with huge infrastructures only. For this we need to have strong willpower.”

“I felt both infrastructure and strong will power are available in KIIT & KISS. The proper leadership of Prof. Samanta, KIIT & KISS have produced so many national and international level sports persons across categories in sports and games. It’s a pride for Odisha as well as the whole country”, he added.

On this occasion, Rathore met Mamata Dalai, a Class-III student of KISS who has been selected for National Bravery Award for the year 2017 and congratulated her for her courage to save her cousin-cum-friend ‘Asanti’ from the mouth of a dreaded crocodile. Addressing the students of KISS Rathore said one can achieve his/her goal with strong willpower.

Later addressing volunteers and members on the eve of ‘Yuva Sambhardhana Utsab’ organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Odisha Unit at KIIT, Colonel Rathore insisted ” if you concentrate yourself on a particular goal, work diligently with dedication and relinquish all other thoughts from your mind, then your desired objective will touch your feet.” Colonel Rathore emphasized, “It is nothing, but willpower holds the key to fetch success in our lives.” In this context, citing the example of Prof. Achyuta Samanta he said that Prof. Samanta have reached the pinnacle of success from obscurity and have achieved seemingly impossible by virtue of his incredible willpower.

Prof. Achyuta Samanta presented the welcome address and introduced the Guest to the audience while Rita Bhagat, State Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Odisha presided over the function.
