Raipur: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Crime Branch, as part of its investigation into the sensational Patnagarh wedding gift explosion in Balangir district, grilled the owner of the Sky King Courier service in Raipur on Tuesday, through which the gift had arrived.
A three-member team of the Crime Branch interrogated the owner of the courier services and got to know that the sender is from Odisha as he was communicating in Odia along with Hindi.
The investigating agency also said that the sender had dispatched the parcel from Sky King courier after the first courier agency refused to deliver the parcel within 10 days.
On the other hand, another team of the Crime Branch conducted a detailed inspection at the house of deceased Soumyasekhar Sahu at Bolanathpara village under Patnagarh block and questioned his parents – Rabindra Sahu and Sanjukta – to extract more information about the incident.
Notably, a parcel bomb, which was sent as wedding gift, killed newly-married Soumya Sekhar and his grandmother Jemamani on February 23. Soumya’s wife Reema sustained grievous burn injuries due to the explosion. She is undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
