Weatherman predicts heavy rain in Odisha from Dec 7

rainBhubaneswar: The IMD Regional Centre here has predicted rain in at least 18 districts of Odisha triggered by a low pressure formed over south Andaman Sea, today. The system is very likely to develop into a depression in next 24 hours bringing downpour by December 7.

The IMD bulletin issued recently says the well-marked low pressure area over south Andaman Sea & adjoining Strait of Malacca now lies over north Sumatra coast with associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above sea level.

The low pressure system is very likely to develop into a depression over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas in next 24 hours. The depression would move towards Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in next 3-4 days triggering rainfall in mostly southern districts of Odisha said Sarat Sahu, Director of Regional Meteorological Centre.
