Koraput: Usually parents sacrifice everything to bring up their children and take care of them by giving all of their love and affection with a hope that their children would care for them when they grow old. However, the story of an elderly couple has raised a question mark over the love and responsibility of the so called today’s ‘modern children’.
According to reports, a couple, in their late 80s, identified as Sanu Hala and Lachhama Hala of Kusumguda village under Kotpad police limits of the district had an argument with their son over cutting a bamboo tree from their house premises. Irked over the argument, Sanu’s son forced them to leave the house.
Finding no means of solace and shelter from anywhere, Sanu who himself was unable to walk, carried his wife to the local police station seeking help.
Meanwhile, Kotpad police are interrogating Sanu’s son. “An elderly couple in their late 70s came with a complaint that their son asked them to leave the house after some argument with them. Interrogation of their son is underway. We are trying to know the exact cause of their problem and try to solve it,” said Kotpad police station IIC Samarpita Swain.
