Bhubaneswar: Sports and Youth Services Secretary , Government of Odisha, Vishal Kumar Dev has been selected as the head of Indian Delegation to the World Athletics Championships (WAC) scheduled to be held in London from August 5 to August 13.
The dynamic bureaucrat had played a vital role in making the 22nd Asian Athletics Championship in Bhubaneswar a grand success. The continental mega sports meet, which was held at Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneswar this month, was successfully organized at a notice of just ninety days after Jharkhand backed out.
The founder of KITT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Dr Achyuta Samanta on Monday extended his greetings to Dev on his new assignment.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Samanta wrote, “Congratulations Shri Vishal Dev, Sports and Youth Service Secretary for being selected as the head of Indian Delegation to 2017 World Championships in Athletics scheduled to be held in London.”
“Shri Dev was one of the instrumental forces behind the mega success of 22nd #AsianAthleticsChampionship. Wishing him the best for all his future endeavors,” he added.
