Village Fire: 2 houses, livestock, poultry assets worth Rs 70,000 gutted

Balasore: Valuable assets including houses, livestock and poultry were reduced to ashes in a deadly fire which erupted in Baghua village under Khaira Block in the district last night.

Sparks were erupted in one local Janardan Das alias Rama’s cattle shed late in the night while all in his family were asleep. After some neighbours witnessed smokes billowing out of the cattle-shed and raised an alarm, Janardan’s family along with the villagers tried to douse the fire and then called up Khaira Fire Brigade team.

However, till the fire tenders reached the spot and brought the flames under control, at least 2 houses along with the cattle-shed with 3 cows, 4 goats and 15 chickens had been reduced to ashes completely.

The total loss incurred in the fire mishap would worth Rs 70,000 claimed the victim family.
