Vigilance traces Rs 2 cr assets from Anganwadi worker
Kendrapara: Acting on allegation of amassing assets disproportionate to her known sources of income, Vigilance officials on Friday conducted simultaneous raids at five places belonging to Shailendri Pradhan, Anganwadi worker of Balabhadrapur village in Kendrapara district, and traced assets worth Rs 2 crore.
As many as 40 officials of the anti-corruption agency conducted raids at her houses in Balabhadrapur, Kendrapara, Bhubaneswar and two other places.
The Vigilance officials found land worth Rs 1.7 crore in her name, Rs 2.8 lakh in cash, gold ornaments worth Rs 83,000 and 12 bank passbooks during the raids.
Meanwhile, investigation has started into the supply of chhatua by a self-help group (SHG) operating from her house.
