Utkal Dibasa: CM Naveen dedicates Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Setu to people of Odisha

Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated the Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Setu over Mahanadi river to the people of Odisha on the occasion of Utkal Divas on Sunday.

The 3.13 km bridge which connects Cuttack and Nuapatna has been constructed by the state government at a cost of Rs 157 crore. The new bridge has been named after eminent freedom fighter poet and the first graduate and lawyer of Odisha Madhusudhan Das.

The Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Setu will reduce travelling time between Cuttack and Dhenkanal by 16 kilometres and is aimed at boosting tourism and socio-economic growth in the area as it connects ‘Dhabaleswar,’ a pilgrim site and the heritage village of Nuapatna.

Works Department Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick, Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena, MLAs of Cuttack – Debi Mishra, Ranendra Pratap Swain, Parthasarathi Behera, Debasis Samantray, Pravat Tripathy, Works Secretary Nalinikanta Pradhan and others attended the inaugural event.
