In a tragic incident, two persons were killed and four others critically injured when a marriage party vehicle met with an accident near Mahanga in Cuttack late on Sunday night.
The deceased have been identified as Pramod Palei and Debasish Ray of Dikhsitpada village in Asureshwara.
The road mishap took place when the marriage party vehicle collided head-on with a stationary truck, killing the duo on the spot. The deceased along with the injured persons were returning to Asureshwara from Cuttack.
The injured were rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
Kin of the mishap victims allege that the Bolero vehicle driver was in inebriated condition.
Police have launched a manhunt to arrest the driver who fled the spot soon after the incident.
