Two hardcore Maoists surrender in Malkangiri
Malkangiri: Two hardcore Maoists, identified as Rama Kawasi (38) of Bodigeta village under Kalimela police limits and Malati Madkami (25) of Bada Tekguda village, surrendered before Malkangiri district police on Wednesday.
The red rebels, who were involved in many cases including murder, blasting and arson, surrendered before the cops in the presence of the Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra.
Both of them were carrying bounties on their heads.
According to police reports, Rama worked as DCM in Boipariguda Area Committee under the MKVB division under the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee of the outlawed organisation from the year 2002 to 2017. He was carrying a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head.
Malati, who was carrying a cash reward of Rs 4 lakh on her head, worked as ACM in Boipariguda Area Committee under the MKVB division under the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee of CPI (Maoist) since 2006.
