Two brothers block goods train in Odisha Rayagada: In a shocking incident, two brothers resorted to a unique way of protest in the district on Wednesday. The siblings identified as Ashok Khora and Kanhu Khora of Ambadala village in the district halted a goods train carrying raw materials to press their demands.

The train was on its way to Vedanta Aluminium Company in Lanjigarh.

According to reports, the Khora family had lost its land due to the rail line of the Aluminium Company 11 years ago. They alleged that the company had assured to give them appointment in the company. However, the company did not keep its promise till date, following which Ashok and Kanhu stopped the train passing through their village by sleeping on the rail track today.

They lifted their agitation following the assurance of the company authorities, who rushed to the spot after getting information.

The Khora brothers’ protest over non-disbursal of compensation for displacement has attracted the government and the civil society to look into the matter.
