Angul: In a heartrending incident, two bike borne youths died on the spot after being hit by a speeding truck on National Highway-55 near Joragadia village under Banarpal police limits in the district late on Saturday night.
The deceased have been identified as residents of Khamar area in the district.
According to reports, the incident took place when the speeding truck bearing registration number OR-09 L-2613 hit the bikers while they were on their way to Khamara from Dhenkanal.
On being informed, Banarpal police rushed to the spot and sized the vehicles and sent the bodies to the district headquarters hospital for autopsy. Besides, it has initiated an investigation into the incident.
