Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here has issued a thunderstorm and lightning warning for 15 districts of Odisha today.
As per the IMD bulletin issued this afternoon, lightning bolts are likely in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur and Dhenkanal.
The warning will be in effect till 5.30 pm.
People in these districts have been cautioned by the weather department to stay inside their homes or take shelter in pucca houses during this period to avert any untoward incident.
