Bhubaneswar: The city based-regional Meteorological Centre on Wednesday sounded an alert for thunderstorm with lightning in as many as 17 districts of the state.
People in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Khurda, Angul, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Sundergarh and Rayagada districts have been advised to take shelter in nearby building or other safe locations between 1.30 PM and 5.30 PM, the crucial period for lightning.
More than 30 people were killed in lightning in different places of the state on Monday and Tuesday.
