Tathagata reiterates Hindi row; replies to Tomar in Odia Bhubaneswar: Reiterating his demand for use of vernacular language or English in letters written by Union Ministers, BJD MP Tathagat Satapathy has replied in Odia to Union Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Narendra Singh Tomar expressing his inability to comprehend the latter’s letter written in Hindi.

Taking to Twitter, Tathagat wrote, “Replied in Oriya to Hon’ble Union Minister Sri Narendra S Tomar expressing inability to comprehend his Hindi letter. –TS.”

The Dhenkanal MP also wondered why Union Ministers cannot hire one person from each state to help communicate with people and people’s representatives from that state? This would create jobs for educated youth, he added.

Satapathy even posted a copy of his letter on his twitter handle, which got an overwhelming response from his followers.

The post has got over 1.4k likes and 174 comments. As many as 977 followers of Tathagata have retweeted the post.

On August 17, the Parliamentarian had criticized the Central Government’s policy of promoting Hindi. In his tweet, Tathagat had accused the Union Ministers of forcing Hindi on non-Hindi speaking states.

Tathagat reportedly chose to react on the issue after he received an official letter from Tomar dated August 11, 2017 to attend a district level ‘Indian vision 2022’ program to be held across the country from August 21-25 by the ministry. He had even posted a copy of Tomar’s letter on his twitter handle.
