Swine Flu death toll rises to 52 in Odisha

Swine FluBhubaneswar: The death toll in swine flu has jumped to 52 in Odisha with two more patients succumbing to the deadly disease – one each in Bhubneswar and Cuttack – on Sunday. However, four more swabs tested yesterday were all found negative for the H1N1 virus.

According to the state health department sources, while one of the patients under treatment died at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, the other one succumbed to the deadly influenza at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

A total of 392 persons in the state have been found carrying the vector-borne disease so far. 1329 swabs have been put to laboratory tests in the state so far since the first Swine Flu case of the year surfaced on August 5.
