Suspended Ex Cong MLA Sudhir Samal Joins BJD

Former Congress MLA Sudhir Samal, who was suspended as Dhenkanal District Congress President yesterday, joined the BJD in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

Samal along with some Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) representatives of Dhenkanal district and around 2000 supporters joined the ruling party in the presence of Chief Minster Naveen Patnaik and Steel and Mines Minister Praful Mallick at Naveen Nivas today.

In his reaction over Samal’s joining, Patnaik said that the former Congress MLA’s joining will strengthen the BJD at the grass root level in Dhenkanal district.

The Odisha unit of Congress had on Saturday suspended the Dhenkanal district president and secretary of its women’s wing Namita Nayak for six years for indulging in anti-party activities.
