Cuttack: Dreaded gangster Sushant Dhalasamanta will be shifted to Balangir jail from Jharpada jail in Bhubaneswar. The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court (rural) on Thursday allowed the police to shift the dreaded criminal.
The Commissionerate police had approached the court seeking permission for shifting Sushant Dhalasamanta from Jharpada jail due to security reasons.
The city cops had taken him on a three-day remand recently to grill him along with arrested Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Ranjita Biswal after she informed the police about the modus operandi through which the Dhalasamanta siblings ran their operations from the jail.
After she was arrested on March 7 on charges of supplying firearms to one Mrutyunjay Nayak, the CMC Corporator had revealed that she had provided the firearms following the order of the Dhalasamanta brothers to kill contractor Bijan Pal.
