Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik, who has already found  a place in the Guinness Book of Records for having created the world’s biggest Santa Claus, has gone big again sculpting the world’s longest Lord Buddha in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The artist had been invited by Indian High Commission in Colombo to participate in the 14th edition of Vesak day celebrations.

The master sand artist created a sand replica of Lord Buddha in near reclining position. It is believed the ‘Reclining Budhha’ or the ‘Nirvana Buddha’ position depicts the last moments in Lord Buddha’s life.

Prior to this, the sand artist had clinched gold medal (jury) at Moscow Sand Art Championship earlier this year.
