Sambalpur: Aswini Kumar Pujahari, the director of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla on Monday suspended the institute’s Associate Professor Goutam Kumar Satpathy, who was caught doing private practice during duty hours in a sting operation by him.
Pujahari suspended Satpathy, Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, after catching him treating patients at home during duty hours.
Acting on a tip off, the Director of VIMSAR whad gone to the private clinic of the Associate Professor and found him treating some patients during duty hours on July 15.
Seeking a reply from Dr. Satpathy within 48 hours, Pujahari had issued a show-cause notice over his absence in the hospital during duty hours.
Earlier on July 10, the Director had caught Associate Professor Braja Bihari Panda of Department of Radiology in the same manner and put him under suspension.
