Baripada: The Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) and the Simlipal Wildlife Sanctuary would remain closed to visitors from June 16 in view of the monsoon, official sources said on Thursday.
STR Field Director M Mohon said that the closure is a routine affair every year. He also informed that the date of the reopening would be announced later, after the end of monsoon season.
Located in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, the STR attracts thousands of domestic as well as international tourists for its scenic beauty with varied flora and fauna along with enthralling waterfalls and vast species of wild lives including Royal Bengal Tiger.
