Berhampur: Mystery shrouded the death of a young woman who died inside the compartment of a express train at Berhampur Railway Station while traveling along with her in-laws on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Sujata Nayak of Bangarada village under Gangapur police limits of Ganjam district.
The incident came to light soon after the in-laws of the deceased alighted the Puri-Okha Express with her body in the morning. The Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel detained her husband identified as Krushna Chandra Nayak for questioning immediately during which he informed that his wife was sick and died during travel.
As per the statement of Krushna to railway police, he worked and lived with his family in Surat of Gujarat State. However, he decided to rush his wife to MKCG Medical in Berhampur after she fell sick a few days ago.
Sujata succumbed on her way to Odisha at around 7 PM last night, the statement adds.
Railway Police was investigating into the case till this report was being filed.
