Puri: Shri Jagannath Sevayat Sammilani on Tuesday demanded Puri King Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb’s entry into the Srimandir Ratna Bhandar, the chamber containing Lord Jagannath’s treasure trove, for inspection.
The members of the Shri Jagannath Sevayat Sammilani said that since Dibyasingha Deb is a permanent member of the team which is in charge of the Ratna Bhandar, he must be in the team for the inspection and not his representative.
Earlier it was decided that either the King or his representative will be in the ten-member team which will enter the Ratna Bhandar for its assessment of the structural stability and safety tomorrow.
Pattajoshi Mohapatra, Bhandara Mekap, Tadhau Karana, Deula Karana, two engineers of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), two members of the ASI Core Committee- GC Mitra and NC Pal, and Advocate NK Mohanty, who has been appointed as Amicus Curiae by the Orissa High Court to inspect the on-going Jagamohan repair works are the other members of the inspection team.
