Security beefed up for PM Modi’s visit to Odisha

Cuttack: Security has been tightened in the twin city of Odisha- Cuttack and Bhubaneswar in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on Saturday to mark the completion of four years of BJP-led government at the Centre.

Addressing a press meet here, Cuttack DCP Akhilesvar Singh said, “as many as 80 platoons of police will be deployed in the city, while 5 teams each of Special Action Group and Special Tactical Unit will be deployed with 2 teams of ODRAF”.

“Four control rooms have been set up to monitor the security arrangements”, he added saying DCPs and 3 IPS officers will supervise the security arrangements during Modi’s visit.

In addition, as many as 20 platoons of police will be deployed in Bhubaneswar during the Prime Minister’s visit.

Modi is scheduled to address the nation at the historic Bali Jatra Ground in the city to highlight his government’s achievements in last four years.

Meanwhile, Opposition Congress has announced to stage demonstration during the Prime Minister’s visit protesting the recent unprecedented rising of petrol and diesel prices.
