Champua: Champua Sub-Collector Gaurahari Behera recently felicitated minor boy Pankaj Mahanta for the exemplary bravery and presence of mind he showed in saving three lives.
Mahanta, a ninth class student of Karanjia High School in Mayurbhanj district, had gone to take bath in Baitarani river with his mother on May 22.
He suddenly dived into the water after hearing the sound of women crying for help. Displaying great presence of mind and courage, the native of village Katulkana rescued three women while they were drowning in the river.
