Roads & Building Division Assistant Engineer under Vigilance scanner

Jagatsinghpur: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids at eight places including residence of Assistant Engineer, Roads & Building Division, Jagatsinghpur.

The Vigilance officials conducted the raids at Assistant Engineer Ramesh Chandra Mishra’s house and office for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to known source of income.

“We had information that Ramesh Chandra Mishra, the Assistant Engineer, Roads & Building Division, Jagatsinghpur, had accumulated huge amount of disproportionate assets. Therefore, today we are conducting simultaneous raids at eight places including Mishra’s houses in Baramunda Housing Board Colony and Jagamara in Bhubaneswar,” said Biswaprakash Patnaik, Vigilance DSP, Jagatsingpur.

“Mishra’s official quarters and house in Jagatsinghpur, father-in-law’s house in Purohitpur and paternal house in Dhiosahibiri are also being raided,” he added.

“Many documents of his land, bank and LIC deposits have been recovered during the raid. From the preliminary investigation we find that the Assistant Engineer possesses illegal assets to the tune of above Rs 1 crore,” Biswaprakash said.
