Bhubaneswar: The depression over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha Coast moved northeastwards and lay centred about 210 km south-southwest of Paradip and 125 km southeast of Gopalpur, informed the IMD.
The system is very likely to move northeastwards off Odisha coast and weaken gradually into a well-marked low pressure area during next 24 hours, it stated.
Under its impact, the IMD has predicted rainfall at most places over Coastal Odisha until the evening with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places.
Sea conditions would be ‘rough’ to ‘very rough’ along and off South Odisha coast until the evening and along and off the North Odisha coasts until tomorrow.
Fishermen have been warned against venturing out into the sea along and off the coast until tomorrow morning.
In view of rain forecast, the State Government has cancelled next two holidays of field officers of agriculture and revenue departments working in 15 rain-hit districts.
