Bhubaneswar: Justice M M Das Commission, which is probing the multi-crore chit fund scam in the state, submitted its third interim report to the Home Department at the state secretariat here on Tuesday, which has identified 41,519 small investors.
“In my third interim report, I have identified 41,519 small investors after registering cases against 176 companies and conducting inquiry thereupon. They will be issued notices and the real investors will be identified after the officials of the companies place their side following the notice,” said Justice Das.
“I have also recommended for refunding the identified duped depositors with the cash,” he added.
The Commission further said that as many as many as 1, 38,388 affidavits have been taken into consideration for the fourth phase of the inquiry.
