PM Narendra Modi greets people of Odisha on the occasion of ‘Raja’

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his good wishes and greetings to the people of Odisha on the occasion of ‘Raja’, the ‘festival of swings’ on Friday.

Taking to his twitter handle the PM posted both in Odia and English languages and wrote, “May this festival enhance the spirit of joy in our society.”

On the special festival of Raja Parba, my greetings to the people of Odisha. May this festival enhance the spirit of joy in our society.

Today is the second day of the three-day ‘Raja’ festival which gets celebrated across Odisha every year during the onset of monsoon. While the first day is called Pahili Raja, the second and third days in line are called Raja Sankranti and Bhuindahana respectively. It is also believed that the ‘earth’ gets its menstrual cycle during this festival.
