Bhubaneswar: The annual Plus Two theory examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) began across the state on Tuesday.
While the Science and Commerce students are writing the English paper on the first day of the examination, the students of Arts stream will start their exam from tomorrow with the same subject.
Sources said as many as 3,65,826 are appearing the exam at 1,104 centres. Out of 3,65,826 examinees, 96,175 belong to Science stream while there are 27,447 Commerce students.
Notably, the practical exam had began on January 29.
Authorities of the CHSE have tightened vigilance to check malpractice during the exam following the incident of Odisha Matric exam question papers getting circulated on WhatsApp. Besides CCTVs, a three tier-security has been put in place for the same.
The CHSE has also issued letters to all the superintendents of +2 examination centres over ban on mobile phones and other electronic gadgets into the examination centres. It has clarified that no invigilators or any other staff at the examination centres will be allowed to carry mobile phones except the centre superintendent.
The exam will continue till March 29.
