Patnagarh Wedding Gift Blast: CB takes Punjilal Meher to Raipur to reconstruct crime scene

Balangir: Odisha Crime Branch (CB), which is probing the much sensational Patnagarh wedding gift blast case, took accused Punjilal Meher, the English lecturer of Jyoti Vikash Junior College at Bhainsa, to Raipur in Chhattisgarh to reconstruct crime scene on Saturday.

According to reports, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CB took Punjilal in a special car to Raipur from Patnagarh.

The probe agency, apart from reconstructing the crime scene, is slated to conduct spot verification.

Crime Branch IG Arun Bothra is also in Raipur. He went there after conducting investigation at Kantabanji this morning.

The SIT had questioned the accused and his family members yesterday in Patnagarh.

The accused has confessed that no one helped him in the crime, however, the Crime Branch suspects others’ involvement. Though the probe officials have received many vital information about the crime, they are looking for proofs to produce before the court during the trial of the case.

Punjilal had sent the killer parcel through Sky King Courier that killed newlywed groom Soumya Sekhar Sahu and his grandmother Jemamani and left bride Reema Sahu severely injured on February 23.
