Papu Pom Pom casting couch case: No witness appears in court

Papu Pam PamBhubaneswar: A special court couldn’t hear the deposition of witnesses in the much talked about casting couch case against Ollywood actor Tatwa Prakash Satpathy alias Papu Pom Pom as none of the witnesses appeared before the court here.

The court had issued summons to four witnesses, including the minor girl, her parents and the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) member Nirupama Ratha , who had lodged the allegation against the actor, to appear before the court for the hearing.

While talking to Kalinga TV, the father of the victim said that he had not received any summons from the court since he had shifted to another place  and his address had changed since the case started.

The lawyer of Pappu Pom Pom, however, said the actor could not appear before the court due to the bad weather in the city.

The victim, a minor girl, had lodged an FIR against Papu Pom Pom on June 25, 2016, accusing the actor of making sexual advances on her on the pretext of providing her a break in Ollywood.

Papu was arrested from Puri on June 30 last year after a prolonged manhunt. He was charged under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences ( POCSO ) Act and different sections of IPC including 354-A, 506 and 509.
