Odisha’s first ‘Dog Ambulance’ flagged off

Bhubaneswar: In what could gladden the animal lovers, the first ‘Dog Ambulance’ was flagged off here on Sunday.

The first Dog Ambulance service was flagged off in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP and Founder of KIIT & KISS Achyuta Samanta, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Anant Narayan Jena, Ollywood Actress Barsha Priyadarshini, Chairman of All Odisha Third Gender Welfare Trust Meera Parida and others.

The day was observed as ‘Roti Day’. ​The first of its kind of initiative was successful due to city based fashion designer Sweta Parekh.

Later, more than 100 women took out a bike rally from near Hindustan Jeweller on Cuttack road to create awareness among the city denizens on the new emergency service and importance of treating the street dogs with kind hearts.

Speaking about the emergency service, Parekh said that the ambulance has all facilities for an ailing dog. The vehicle will attend the injured street dogs once gets call from the people.
