Sambalpur: Odisha police on Saturday arrested a youth for reportedly collecting money from people by opening and using a fake Facebook account in the name of Deogarh MLA. The arrested youth has been identified as Suraj Mandal.
According to reports, Suraj Mandal of Budharaja area of Sambalpur district used to collect money by using a fake Facebook profile of Deogarh MLA Nitesh Ganga Deb. He used to collect money from people in the guise of the legislator on pretext of doing their work.
However, when the matter came to light, Deb filed a police complaint against Mandal, following which police arrested the accused today.
