Odisha to witness rainfall: Regional Meteorological Centre

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre here on Thursday informed that a low pressure area formed over north Bay of Bengal is likely to trigger heavy rainfall in several coastal districts of Odisha during the next three days.

Regional Meteorological Centre Director HR Biswas informed that Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khurda, Ganjam and Bhadrak likely to experience heavy downpour.

The low pressure might develop into a well-marked low pressure later on, Biswas added.

Meanwhile, fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea during the period.

On the other hand, the Meteorological Centre issued heavy rain and thunderstorm warning for 9 districts – Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri and Nayagarh – till 5.45 PM today.
