Bengaluru-based Odia techie killed for Rs 500, one accused arrestedBhubaneswar: Bengaluru police has arrested one of the two accused who killed Pranay Mishra, a software engineer from Odisha by stabbing him repeatedly on Monday morning, after Mishra refused to pay Rs 500.

The accused has been identified as Kartik, whom policed nabbed based on CCTV footage. Search is on to arrest the other absconding accused named Arun.

According to sources, the 28-year-old Odia techie from Bhubaneswar was on his way to meet one of his friends when his bike dashed into another bike which belonged to the accused. Kartik and Arun asked him to pay Rs 500 for the damages caused. But when Mishra refused to pay, the duo stabbed him in the stomach and fled the spot.

Mishra was found bleeding profusely after being stabbed repeatedly on a road about a kilometer from his rented house in the city’s upmarket area. He was working at the Bengaluru branch of Accenture, a global management consulting and professional services company.
