Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been placed at the 14th position in the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ list for the 2017 fiscal year. Odisha has got a staggering 92.09 per cent score under the “Achievers” category.
There is even better news for the people as the State has topped in terms of paying taxes.
While Andhra Pradesh topped the list, its neighboring sate Telangana was placed on the second position.
The other states who were in the top 10 are Haryana, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan and West Bengal.
National capital Delhi has been ranked 23, dropping from 19 in 2016.
States have been ranked on how well they implement business reforms – as many as 405 recommendations were set out by the government last year – and last year Telangana and Jharkhand came out at the head of the class.
17 states have achieved a reform evidence score of more than 90 per cent and 15 have achieved a combined score of 90 per cent and more.
