Odisha primary school teachers join stir in Delhi News Delhi: Around 200 primary school teachers from Odisha participated in the strike by teachers from all over India at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Thursday.

The teachers’ team arrived in the national capital city under the leadership of All Odisha Primary School Teachers’ Association president Trilochan Nayak to attend the stir called by the All India Primary School Teachers’ Association.

The teachers’ body has called the stir to press its demands, which include implementation of Seventh Pay Commission recommendations, pension to retired teachers in the old pension scheme instead of the new and a unique policy for primary teachers and school for the entire country.

Teachers from 25 states, including Odisha, participated in the strike in the national capital to put pressure on the Central Government. They threatened to gherao the Parliament if their demands are not fulfilled by next year.
