Odisha Matric Exam 2018 to begin from Feb 23

Supplementary examBhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Monday announced that the High School Certificate Examinations-2018 will begin from February 23 and will continue till March 8.

The schedule is : Odia ( Feb 23), English (Feb 26), Hindi/ Sanskrit (Feb 28), Math (Mar 3), General Science (Mar 6), Social Sciences (Mar 8).

All the exams will be held between 9 AM and 11.30 AM. However, extra 15 minutes will be allotted for the mathematics paper.

According to Controller of Examination Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, this year 100 more exam centres will be included to the existing number of centres.

The exam will be conducted in all three categories including BSE, Open School Exam and Sanskrit board exam.

Meanwhile, the online form fill-up for the exam has begun from November 1. Students can log in to official website www.bseodisha.ac.in to fill up their forms.

November 16 is the last date of filling up of application forms (deposit of fee) without fine. However, the students who register and deposit the fees by November 16 have to compulsorily submit the application by midnight of November 17.

The students, who failed to fill up their online forms (deposit of fee) by November 16, can do so till November 21 with fine and submit their form by midnight of November 22.

The regular students will have to deposit Rs 320 for the exam fee while students under Quasi-Regular, Ex-Regular, Correspondence-Regular and Correspondence-Ex-regular categories will have to deposit Rs 405. Fine for late registration and submission is Rs 50.

However, the state government has waived the exam fee of the students of 15 drought hit-districts.

BSE President Dr. Jahanara Begum informed that a special software has been prepared for the students of these districts. Students of these districts will get two days more.
