State Govt to set up Haj House in Bhubaneswar Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to set up a Haj House in Bhubaneswar to provide short stay facilities to Muslims going on Haj pilgrimage.

“The state government has decided to build a Haj House in Pokhariput area of the city. Land for the purpose has been identified and the construction work will begin very soon,” said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik while felicitating 648 Haj pilgrims at Jayadev Bhavan today.

Stating that his government is committed to the welfare of people belonging to the minority communities, Patnaik said, “As many as 100 other multipurpose community centres will also be set up for the benefit of the minority community.”

The chief Minister informed that the government is also mulling establishment of direct air communication between Bhubaneswar and Mecca for the welfare of pilgrims.
