Odisha Govt pays due bills to get Ananta Ojha’s body from Bengaluru Hospital

Bangalore: In a humanity gesture, Odisha government on Monday paid the due bills to get noted opera script writer, director and artiste Ananta Ojha’s body, who passed away yesterday at a Bengaluru based hospital in Karnataka.

Odisha government reportedly paid Rs 7.60 lakh due bill at the city based HCG Cancer Hospital where Ojha was admitted for treatment of cancer.

Ananta Ojha’s body will be brought to his native village- Biranilakanthapur in Kendrapara district tomorrow for the last rites, said sources. The hospital authorities had not released the mortal remains of the jatra scriptwriter as his family members could not pay the due amount.

Ojha had passed away after a prolonged battle with mouth cancer at HCG hospital at the age of 59. He is survived by his wife, three sons, daughter and mother.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and others had condoled Ojha’s death and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
