Odisha Government issues advisory on wannacry ransomware

The State Government, on Wednesday, issued an advisory on Wannacry Ransomware, as another attack in the State surfaced. After Berhampur Hospital information system was hacked by ransomware, three systems of Chhatrapur, Purusottampur medical were also affected by the same virus.

However, two systems have started functioning after installation of anti-virus software.

The Information and Technology Department of the state has issued an advisory to create awareness following the cyber threat. All government departments have been asked to update their anti-virus system and install only genuine software. The State Government has also decided to set up a toll free number for helping people.

Meanwhile, Ashok Hota, technical director of NIC has informed that the ransomware has no threat to ATMs.
