Bhubaneswar/Puri: Amid the controversy over missing keys of Ratna Bhandar of Srimandir in Puri, the Odisha government on Monday changed the chief administrator of Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) ahead of the annual Rath Yatra scheduled to be held on July 14.

Principal Secretary in the School and Mass Education Department Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra has been given additional charge as the chief administrator of SJTA replacing Pradeep Kumar Jena.

The development came hours after the incumbent SJTA chief Jena held a meeting of Chhatisa Nijog (the apex body of the priests) in connection with the Supreme Court’s ruling to prevent malpractice and mismanagement in temple affairs, including hassle-free visit of devotees and their offerings.

Puri District Judge Ambuj Mohan Das, Collector Arvind Agarwal and Superintendent of Police Sarthak Sadangi also attended the meeting.
