Koraput: Odisha girl Anindita Janhavi Suara from Jeypore Town in Koraput district has made the state and the country proud by entering into the final of an international poetry competition conducted online by the government of United Kingdom.
Anindita, a Plus Two student of VD College in Jeypore, is the lone competitor from the country in the list of 50 finalists of the competition conducted by the Tourism Department of UK.
“I had submitted my poem to UK Tourism department and they had sent me a mail after I was selected. Over 20,000 had participated in the competition in which I am among the top 50 finalists and the only Indian. I reached there after qualifying in all four rounds,” said a jubilant Anindita.
Since the fifth round involves public voting, Anindita, who aims at winning the prize, has urged the people of the country to vote her on her Facebook wall.
“I did my best to reach up to the last step of the competition. Now it is not in my hand as the fifth and final step is of public voting. Therefore, I request everyone to bless me with their votes which would help me wining the prize,” added the Plus Two student, who wants to build her career as a poet.
One can vote for the teen poet by searching – Anindita Writings – on the Facebook where her page will appear following which you can click on the like bottom on the Voices From The Past Poem as one like is equal to one vote.
The lines are open for online voting for the favourite poems and budding poets till September 25.
